New location for ‘The Adventure Beat’

The Beat goes on… Once again we find a new location, using publishing technology from WordPress.com.

We’ll try to keep you on track with the latest news, trends and accomplishments in adventure and travel. Our network of confederates includes outdoor film producers, mountaineers and river guides, authors and photographers, and you. Send us your own events and alerts and be part of the online adventure community. Follow the Beat, and we’ll do the same.

The Adventure Beat began at Yahoo in 2005, as a recurring editorial adjunct to Richard Bangs Adventures, a travel media project at the distinctive URL adventures.yahoo.com. When the project was cancelled — something called Web 2.0 drove Yahoo to drop its original, professional, multimedia content in favor of repurposed, amateur, deconstructed (and free) widgets and feeds — the Adventure Beat struggled on as a blog. (If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.)
